Festa de Portugal (Celebration of Portugal) brings Lady Baga patrons, never ending doses of crazy drinks, foot-tapping Portuguese music, great Portuguese fare and table-side entertainment – essentials for a great evening.
The Portuguese, enchanted by the beauty of the land, made Goa the capital of its Oriental empire. Having been in Goa for 450 years, their greatest legacy is the distinct attitude of susagado (relaxed, unhurried, laid back way of life). At Festa de Portugal, familiarise yourself with Portuguese dishes – some of which you may have sampled while holidaying in Goa while some can be found only in Goan homes during festivals, along withPortuguese themed cocktails. Accompanying these will be Portuguese music – be it Fado, Folk or Pop; there will be dance – the famous Corridinho, Karaoke, Flashmobs to the tunes of Vai Portugal, and adrenaline invoking videos, football match highlights featuring Portugal.

Grab some chilled beer or your favourite Lady Baga cocktail and get the party going. Indulge in some delicious Bacon Fries or Chicken BBQ Fries or opt for the crisp and slim Lava Fries with molten cheese, olives, pimentos…oh wait there’s Cajun Olive Fries too! The sinful Cheese and Fig Toasties and Yellow Cheddar Toastie with Kale and Cherry Tomatoes are treats you must not miss. Or head straight for the big daddy of them all, Torrandas de Camarao, a Portuguese Prawn toast. It is made with saucy and cheesy Prawns loaded on to toasted bread and grilled. Also try the Batatas Bravas with Tomato Frittata or spicy potatoes served with an eggless tomato and cilantro omelette. Fofosor Fish rolls at Lady Baga are made with Red Snapper; a classic from Portugal, these are traditionally made with salted cod, but the recipe used by Goan cooks uses fresh fish. Seafood lovers can enjoy Almondegas de Peixeor Fish Cakes, a Goan recipe with a big Portuguese influence. Baked in fancy silicon cups, these are only one of its kind. Pork Sorpotel, in a spicy,vinegared sauce, is a dish of Portuguese origin is commonly cooked in Goa. At Lady Baga, it is served with pao/rice. Classic comfort food Vegetable Pilaf isserved with a salad and for non-vegetarians there is Prawn Pilaf.End on a sweet note with the super delicious Serradura or saw dust pudding, a little glass of heaven.
