It was not less than a feast for the eyes when 51 couples from different communities advanced ahead to tie the knot with each other from the Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, And Christian communities in a mass marriage ceremony organised by Ladli Foundation Trust , on November 29th,2015 in Chattarpur Temple premises.
It was an incredible event where separate 51 Pavilions, 51 Priests conducted the wedding according to the family’s traditions and customs. The trust made their day remarkable by showering flowers from the sky. It was an incredible view which made the entire ceremony an auspicious one; it seemed as if god has come down to bless the newly-wed couples. The couples were not only provided with new hopes and dreams but were also helped to start their life afresh with an amount of one lakh rupees along with the items of domestic utility as a gift by the donor of trust ,the Anant Raj Group Family.
National President of the Organisation Mr. Devendra Kumar Gupta & National Secretary Mrs. Nishtha Choudhary informed that there is nobody to take care of these girls. They are tortured and forced to do wrong things. Our Organisation believes that the poor family mourns over the birth of a girl child in their family; they start saving money and accumulating the assets for the marriage of the girl thus giving no importance to their education. A girl is considered to be a liability. The poor girl is left devastated with no emotional support from the family and decides either to elope with somebody or suicides. Poverty acts as a curse for women and the society.
Devendra Kumar Gupta, with his social efforts and devoid of any government aid and economic help, organized group marriages (Samuhik Vivah) for the girls of the underprivileged sections of the society and successfully solemnized the marriage of more than 550 girls at the mere age of 29 years. He gave these girls a new hope, dreams and positivity. He has been conferred with the National Youth Award by Govt. Of India for the year 2013-14 for his unprecedented contribution to the society.
This event saw the presence of the former chief minister of Delhi, Honourable Mrs. Sheila Dikshit, Vijaya Rahatkar National President BJP Mahila Morcha , Chairman Delhi Women Commission Swati Maliwal , Delhi BJP –RSS Chief Mr.Sidharthan, Delhi BJP vice President Tilk Raj Katariya , Convenor Beti Bachao Beti Padhao Movement Preeti Agrawal Etc.
